    • How to Lead a Group Ride – Andy Fry, Karl Fundenberger, Topeka Community Cycle Project

      Bike ride focused on how to lead a group ride that moves recreational riders to become transportation riders. The ride will take place around central McPherson.

    • The Meadowlark Trail – Michele Cullen, Central Kansas Conservancy

      Attendees will travel to the Meadowlark trailhead, just outside of city limits to walk on the trail and learn the story of how the trail came to be.

    • Walk Audit, Infrastructure Barriers – Shaun Murphy-Lopez, Toole Design; Pam Jiner, GirlTrek

      Travel along Kansas Avenue and identify inadequate pedestrian infrastructure. This will have a focus on intersection improvements for pedestrians in an automobile-centric environment.

    • Walk Audit, Accessibility – Aaron Boehmler, Burns & McDonnell; Anthony Fadale, Kansas Department of Administration

      This walk audit will take participants on a short walk experiencing how infrastructure barriers such as sidewalk gaps, ramps, and crossings can impact those with disabilities. Attendees can use tools like a wagon or stroller to simulate the experience of walking with a mobility device.

    • Unconferencing Sessions - The “unconference” encourages attendees to tap into the collective knowledge of like-minded participants. Suggest topics during check-in. Topics with a lot of interest and a volunteer facilitator will have an informal session during the mobile workshops timeframe.
